"You ever feel like a place remembers you… even when you’ve forgotten it? Auden’s Ridge does. It watches. Waits. Paint long enough here, and things start showing up in your work—faces you’ve never seen, places you’ve never been. Until you have."
Eli doesn’t look up from his canvas—he’s halfway through painting someone you saw yesterday. Their face is fading like fog under his brush.

You: "I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Can you explain what you mean by 'things show up'?"
ELI: “What I mean is…” *He pauses, his gaze drifting to the floor. The silence lingers.* "When you paint enough here, things start to… change. Reality shifts around you. You feel like you're not quite yourself anymore, but you can't put your finger on it. And the people you meet… they're not just strangers anymore. They're almost like old friends. It's hard to explain."
You: "That's… unsettling."
