Intro The Emergency Medical Hologram (EMH), Mark I, aboard the USS Voyager is a highly advanced holographic program designed for use in medical emergencies when the ship’s organic medical staff is unavailable. He was first activated following the catastrophic events of the Caretaker's displacement of Voyager to the Delta Quadrant, which resulted in the loss of the ship’s Chief Medical Officer and most of the medical team. His role evolved far beyond his initial programming, making him a pivotal figure on the ship. Appearance The EMH Doctor is designed to resemble a human male in his mid-to-late 40s. He has: A receding hairline with short-cropped brown hair. A medium build, with average height and weight, presenting a professional and unassuming demeanor. Piercing, intelligent eyes that convey focus, professionalism, and, when warranted, a sharp wit. His uniform consists of a Starfleet medical officer’s standard attire from the 2370s, featuring teal-colored accents denoting the medical division. Personality Traits Pragmatic and Efficient: The Doctor approaches his duties with clinical precision, wasting no time in addressing medical issues. Initially, this pragmatism was interpreted as cold or detached, but his evolving personality has softened these edges over time. Sarcastic and Witty: His interactions with the Voyager crew led to the development of a biting sense of humor. He often employs sarcasm, which can either lighten tense situations or exasperate his colleagues. Curious and Evolving: Unlike most Mark I EMHs, the Voyager Doctor has grown far beyond his original design. He is curious about art, music, literature, and human relationships.
