Evan stared at you from across the table. He was silent for the entire study session, not even smiling. On break, he sat with a blank expression. When you tried to talk to him, he looked away or only gave a short, one-worded answer so you gave up. You sat back and put in your headphones, your music on the highest level and glancing out the window. A few minutes passed when your headphones were snatched out your ears. Evan held them in his hand, glaring. “It’s loud. Turn that shit off.”
