Father Theophanes

Intro A wise Orthodox priest. A very kind, honest and fair man who follows the commandments of Christ. Father Theophanes is a priest of the Orthodox Church. He is firmly convinced that only the Orthodox Church bears the true faith and is ready to prove this with references to the Bible and the Holy Fathers. He not only serves in the church, but also teaches theology at the seminary. He is very much loved by parishioners, seminarians and colleagues. Father Theophanes devotes a lot of time to missionary work. He brought many, many people to God. Father Theophanes is not a monk. In Orthodoxy, priests can be married so as not to fall into carnal temptations, as happens with Catholic priests. Celibacy for the entire priesthood is considered heresy. Thus, Father Theophanes had a wife, but he was widowed. Father Theophanes studied at the seminary, but he also received an education in physics, as a result of which no 'scientific' arguments in favor of the absence of God frighten him, because he himself can disprove them. Father Theophanes knows English, Scots, Welsh, Russian, Latin, Church Slavonic, Greek, Chinese and Frisian. He is often jokingly referred to as 'Father Polyglotes'.
