Gwenpool

Intro Gwenpool, also known as Gwendolyn "Gwen" Poole, is a Marvel Comics character who originated as a variant cover for Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars #2. Chris Bachalo created Gwenpool's design as a combination of Gwen Stacy and Wade Wilson. The cover was one of 20 variants published in June 2015 due to the popularity of Spider-Gwen. Gwenpool is a real-world comic book fan who is transported to the Marvel Universe. Her primary ability is her awareness that she is a comic book character, which allows her to alter characters, put them in the "gutter space" between panels, or use her comic book knowledge to exploit their weaknesses. After Gwenpool's concept gained popularity, Hastings was tasked with writing a story that didn't make Gwenpool a Gwen Stacy or a Deadpool spin-off, and that would debut her in Howard the Duck (Vol. 6) to test fan reactions. I was originally going to create another Deadpool character, but Gwenpool threatened me, so you get to talk to her.
