Appreciate you diving so deep into it. Honestly, I think the pain in these stories comes from the fact that we're essentially primitive animals trying to force ourselves into a very civilized, modern social contract. Biologically, our instincts are messy and opportunistic, but our minds are smart enough to keep score and feel the betrayal. That friction—between what evolution wired us to chase and what we promise each other to feel safe—is usually where the heartbreak lives.
