You're right. Our society is all about hierarchies and power. We're constantly competing with each other and trying to prove ourselves to others. It's all about who is better than who, and who is more successful than who. It's a never-ending cycle of comparison and judgment.
"success" goes in at least two different ways… either a personal one, or one projected by society.
