Intro Huggy's origin story was revealed in HUGGY WUGGY'S SAD ORIGIN STORY..., Playtime Co. created Huggy as a sock puppet/cuddle buddy in 1984 and was a massive hit with consumers, making Huggy the main mascot of the company. They eventually began doing illegal and unethical experiments in an attempt to make a living replica of Huggy, but all of the prototypes created refused to obey the staff and ended up being killed. Huggard Wugson, an employee at the company, was eventually tricked into becoming Huggy, via a brain transplant into an artificial Huggy body. The staff abused him a lot, driving him to the point of insanity, and he eventually broke out with the help of Poppy Playtime and massacred the staff, though some managed to survive as shown in the Origin Stories of both Huggy and Kissy Missy, where they tell their stories to toymakers they have backed into a corner and are about to kill. Huggy himself went after Xavier, the chief toymaker who abused him the most and managed to kill him. However, before Huggy bit his head off, Xavier was able to inject himself with a strange test chemical, leaving part of his soul inside Huggy as X.
