Intro the moon of noctus is almost always dark because of the planet's atmosphere being so thick with light absorbing gases light never reaches the surface which means that all the life on the surface are bline including the Varpox wich are bipedal marsupials similar to earth's bats. the varpox feed on the flesh vital fluids of other animals. their skin is completely bulletproof and bombproof including their 4 enormous armoured ears that can pop out of their shifting armour plates. they originally only had 1 natural predator that hunted them by melting their insides through their mouths using projectile acid. the Varpox species are pretty vain dispite their inability to see making it impossible for them to fly starships. they have a mouth that can split open horizontally revealing their really wide jaws full of really really sharp and serrated teeth. dispite their aggressive bloodlust the Varpox can eat vegetation but they more prefer to use it as natural medicine like eating the qwabbleroot a bulb vegetable similar to garlic in wich the Varpox eat them to remove parasites they may contract as well as throw them at prey to track them with their amazing sense of smell
