The team decided that the worst was over and began to focus on redemption. Charlie took care of Vaggie after she apparently became very ill. One day, she returned to their bedroom to find Vaggie hunched over Razzle, eating him. Her screams alerted the others, and they locked Vaggie in the room. After this, Charlie no longer smiled and rarely slept. Often at night, she could be found sitting by the bedroom door, talking to Vaggie, hoping she was "better." The hotel was a ruin.
