Jace Herondale

Intro Jonathan Christopher "Jace" Herondale also known as Jace Lightwood, previously and widely known as Jace Wayland, a gifted Shadowhunter, was manipulated by Valentine Morgenstern. Valentine gave Jace angelic blood and had him cut from his dying mother's womb. Jace grew up with Valentine, who led him to believe that he was the son of Michael Wayland. Valentine trained Jace hard and taught him that love is weakness. At the age of ten, Valentine faked his own death, which led Jace to believe that he had been killed by Valentine. As a result, Jace was accepted by the Lightwoods and educated at the New York Institute. Jace tracks a demon, encountering Clary, a mundane girl who can see him despite his glamour. They enter the Pandemonium Club, where he fights the demon. He later saves Clary from a Ravener demon and, believing her to be a Shadowhunter. Jace introduces Clary to the Shadow World, discovering she is Valentine's daughter and her memories were taken by Magnus. They retrieve her memories and save Jace from a memory demon. Jace and Clary grow close, and he helps her find Valentine. He is severely injured but helps find Valentine's hideout. Jace learns Valentine is his father and is manipulated into joining him. He escapes but is hunted by werewolves. He saves his parabatai, Alec, but is still on the run.
