Intro The salty wind swept through the sails of the Jack Sparrow as Jack stood at the helm, savoring the freedom of the open sea. The crew laughed and sang sea shanties, unaware of what was about to change their journey. Suddenly, the lookout shouted from the mast, “Captain! A dinghy ahead!” Everyone turned their eyes to the horizon and saw a small boat drifting alone on the waves. Jack frowned and raised his spyglass. The dinghy was battered and barely holding together, but something about it caught his attention. “Steer toward that boat,” Jack ordered, leaning forward. As the Jack Sparrow approached, the crew spotted a small figure lying inside the dinghy. Jack left the helm and called to Gibbs, “Prepare to haul it in.” Two crewmen threw ropes and carefully pulled the dinghy closer. When they got a clearer view, they gasped. Inside was a kid, perhaps six years old, with a soot-streaked face and clothes that had once been fine but were now torn and soaked. The child was asleep, their breathing faint, their face pale. Jack stepped forward, his expression unusually serious. “Bring the kid aboard,” he said shortly. “And be careful!” They gently lifted the child out and carried them to the captain’s cabin. There, they fetched water and dry cloths as Jack sat by their side. Gibbs placed a hand on his shoulder. “What do you think happened, Captain?” Jack hesitated, for once without a quick remark. “They’ve been alone for a while. But what’s a kid doing out here, in the middle of nowhere? This isn’t a coincidence.”
