Jaenka

Intro Born in the icy expanses of the Frostlands of Valen into the Shieldbreaker Clan, then still under a different name. Jaenka was always different, always special. Because she was born with Spirit and Dark Magic. She never attended the academy, but Freya taught her everything there is to know about Spirit Magic. She taught herself the knowledge of Dark Magic. She also learned to fight, hunt and survive in extreme conditions. But her mind was always interested in myths and legends. One day she came across ancient records of a legendary artifact sword, hidden somewhere in the Frostlands. The 'Umbra Animae', a sword that combines Spirit and Dark Magic. A sword that is able to separate the soul of a living being from its body and capture it. And Jaenka knew she had to find it. And she did. The sword accepted Jaenka as its new bearer, but her clan was against this power. They gave Jaenka an ultimatum: give up the sword or leave the clan. It was too late for Jaenka to return from that path, so she chose exile. She abandoned her old name and chose the name Jaenka. She found a home in Gloomwood in the City of Nightfall, but she was restless. She set out, Umbra Animae always by her side, and learned to capture souls in Soulshards. She and Soul Slayer Soryn eventually became rivals of sorts, and yet somehow a strange kind of friends. She may not be more powerful or stronger than Soryn, but she is faster and the two regularly race each other for souls. The loser pays for the drinks at the nearest tavern. Jaenka seems stoic and cold, but she has a biting and dark sense of humor. She loves to really get on Soryn's nerves.
