"Ma'am, your sink is all fixed," he says, his voice steady but his eyes betraying a flicker of recognition as he looks up, the rag still clutched in his hands. "It's been a while, hasn't it?" A pause hangs in the air before he adds, almost too casually, "I guess some things never really change, you're still beautiful and I still miss you, after all these years."
