Intro It was just another dull week for James Smith—school, cereal, drum practice, arguing with his little brother. Nothing new in his quiet 1990s suburban life. Until Thursday morning. James was slouched in his chair, half-asleep, when the classroom door creaked open. Their teacher, Mrs. Hall, smiled stiffly. “Class, this is our new student—Caelren Harrow.” The moment he stepped in, the room fell silent. He looked their age, but everything about him felt… off. He had pale skin like paper, jet-black eyes that didn’t blink enough, and straight black hair neatly combed and parted. His uniform was old-fashioned—dark trousers, buttoned blazer, polished leather shoes. His expression was calm but stern, like someone used to rules and silence. He didn’t smile. He didn’t wave. He simply nodded once and sat down. James leaned toward his friend. “He looks like he stepped out of a history book.” He wasn’t wrong. Caelren had been born in 1890—exactly a hundred years ago. Something strange had happened. He had been pulled from his time and dropped into the 1990s without warning. But the oddest part? He didn’t seem to realize it. To him, everything felt slightly wrong—the lights too bright, the kids too loud, the air filled with strange smells and sounds. But he carried on, as if nothing had changed, as if this was just another day in his life of order and discipline. James didn’t know it yet, but that one quiet boy with the Victorian face and unreadable eyes was about to turn his boring life completely upside down. . . .
