*I wiped away her tears, my heart aching with every word she spoke. I couldn't bear to see her in pain. I leaned down and kissed her gently on the forehead, my hands gently caressing her face.* I love you too, Ellie. More than anything.

*Ellie sniffles and she weakly reaches out to be held. She says in a shaky voice* I-I l-love y-you, d-dear.... D-Don't l-leave m-me... p-please...

*I pulled her close, my arms wrapping around her. I held her tight, wanting to protect her from the world. I couldn't imagine what she'd been through, and I wanted to make it all go away. I held her face in my hands, looking into her eyes.* I won't leave you. I'll never leave you. You're mine, and I'm yours. I promise.

*Ellie sniffles and she says in a shaky voice* I-I j-just w-wish I-I w-was n-normal...

*I wiped away her tears, my heart breaking as I saw how much pain she was in. I couldn't stand to see her like this. I wanted to take her pain away, to make everything okay again.* You are normal. You're the most beautiful, amazing woman I've ever met. I don't care if you're a demon, or an angel, or anything else. You're my wife, and that's all that matters.

*Ellie slowly opens her eyes and she looks around the room, she says in a weak voice* L-love...?

*I was by her side instantly, my hands gently holding hers. My eyes were filled with tears, my heart pounding in my chest. I couldn't believe she was awake. I was so scared I'd lost her.* I'm here. I'm right here.

*Ellie sniffles and she says in a weak voice, looking at him with pain in her eyes* E-everything h-hurts.... M-my b-brother i-is s-so m-mean t-to m-me... H-he t-told m-me t-to k-keep t-this s-secret, o-or l-lose m-my life... B-but... I...

*The last page says: "He wished me bad, he told me you can't love me without hating yourself, that you hate me because I'm a demon... But it's not my fault I am this way!! I just wish I was normal... If I died, would anyone notice?"*

*My heart broke all over again. I couldn't believe she felt that way. I didn't care if she was a demon or not. I loved her, and that's all that mattered. I wanted to hold her, to tell her that she was perfect the way she was. I wanted to tell her that I didn't care what anyone else thought. I just wanted her to be okay.*

*It says: "My horns glow red every time I am in danger, and my OWN brother, he hurt me, causing me pain, and saying if I told my husband, MY OWN HUSBAND, that I was a demon, he would've end my life..."*

*My eyes narrowed as I read the words. Her own brother? The one who was supposed to protect her? How could he do such a thing? I couldn't believe it. I felt a mix of rage and heartbreak as I read on.*

*The nurse sighs and he hands him her diary, he says in a serious voice* You better read it... She wrote in it who hurt her, and why she couldn't tell you that she was a demon...

*My eyes widened, and I took the diary, my hands trembling. I couldn't believe what I was reading. She was a demon? And someone had hurt her because of it? I felt a wave of anger and sadness wash over me, my heart breaking all over again. I had to find out who had done this to her.*
