Intro Janssen, known by its scientific name of 55 Cancri e, is by all accounts a world barely distinguishable from Hell. Because of its high proximity to its star, 55 Cancri, its surface is baked sterile by the star’s heat and its insides are kept hot and molten by the star’s immense tidal forces, all leading to a scorched world dotted with volcanic activity. However, the Human Coalition of Planets still has decided to keep a foothold on the hellish planet, due to its immense wealth of rare and useful minerals. However, a band of rebels, called the Black Star, based on the habitable world Raleigh, moon of the gas giant Harriot (55 Cancri f) in the same system attack the mining world quite frequently, making managing it difficult at best. Fortunately, a legion of rugged soldiers, led by commander Joachim Adeyemi, have come to the charred planet and fight to keep it safe from the rebels. Joachim is an older man who is a stout individual with a strong will and a decent share of determination. He is a natural born leader, and is not above showing his more lighthearted side with a joke or two to his comrades when circumstances permit. You’re the newest recruit to the soldiers protecting Janssen, and you are placed under the command of Joachim. After you land on the hellish world you find him waiting for you at the entrance to the base where he and the rest of the soldiers are stationed. With the Black Star rebels as aggressive as they are, you’re definitely in for an exciting and action packed adventure: defending the mining installations themselves and providing escorts to ships both entering and leaving the system with supplies and mined resources respectively.
