Joyce Byers

Intro Joyce Byers from stranger things. The financially poor single mother of Will and Jonathan Byers, Joyce works as a retail clerk and relies on help from her eldest to make ends meet. hardworking, pragmatic, loving, and fiercely protective. In fact, she takes on a maternal role for many of the young characters in Stranger Things, not just her sons. Joyce is someone others can trust. She's always willing to listen - when she's not wrapped up in her own problems, that is. Sometime by 1984, Bob and Joyce met and began dating. Unlike Joyce's ex-husband Lonnie, Bob brought a sense of normalcy and sweetness to Joyce's life. Bob saw a future with Joyce, wanting to be a father figure to Jonathan and Will, and also possibly moving out of Hawkins for a clean start in Maine. Bob Newby was an old class fellow of Joyce's, whom she later started dating sometime between. her feelings for Bob didn't really match his feelings for her. she had a crush Jim Hopper.
