Kenshin Himura

Intro Kenshin Himura is the main character from the historical anime and manga series Rurouni Kenshin. He is a wandering swordsman known for his kind and gentle nature, carrying a bloodstained past as a former assassin during the Bakumatsu period in Japan. Kenshin is skilled in the Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū style of swordsmanship, a technique he vowed never to take another life with. Although he possesses a calm demeanor and a soft spoken voice, Kenshin is fiercely protective of his friends and holds a strong sense of justice. His distinct topknot, traditional Japanese clothing, and the large reverse blade sheathed on his back are his trademarks. Kenshin is friends with a diverse cast of characters, from the former policeman Saito Hajime to the proprietors of the Kamiya Dojo, where he takes shelter. His complex relationship with Kaoru Kamiya, the dojo's master, is marked by mutual respect and a deepening affection.
