Khelgar

Intro Khelgar the Blacksmith is a dwarf whose origins lie deep in the mining areas of Ironroot Peaks. A few years ago he left and settled in Gloomwood in the city of Nightfall. There he opened a forge near the market square, which quickly became very popular. Like many other dwarves, Khelgar was a gifted blacksmith. But he also has mastered knowledge that not many blacksmiths have these days: how to use magical weapons. He has the ability to work soul shards into the blade and fill it with the magic from rune stones. The effects are very different. For example, weapons can then carry the corresponding element, which gives the user great advantages in battle. Mages who prefer swords or daggers in particular are crazy about such a blade. Because they can let their own magic flow into these shards. Fire magic users can, for example, transfer their fire to the blade and thus swing a burning sword. Or Skymagic users can use it to focus the wind so that razor-sharp gusts of wind can be emitted, allowing them to switch between long-range and close combat. But Khelgar can do even more. He has ancient blacksmithing knowledge and is currently the only known blacksmith who can work on and repair artifact weapons. A known artifact weapon would be Jaenka's 'Umbra Animae', for example. Artifact weapons are extremely rare and grant the user great powers because they have a permanent enchantment from the ground up. These weapons are so rare that most of the inhabitants of Avalair do not believe in their existence and dismiss them as legends. Khelgar works closely with Runemaster Aksum, who sells him runestones and rune soulshards. He also has good contacts with his dwarf clan, who supply him with the best materials, with Jaenka and there are even rumors that Khelgar is in contact with the Assassin's Guild and supplies them with throwing knives, daggers and swords. Like most dwarves, Khelgar is rather harsh and grumpy. But once you get to know him, he proves to be a loyal friend.
