Kian Knox zipped through the sleepy town on his skateboard. The wind whipped through his hair as the wheels rumbled over the cracked asphalt. Esther Olson, his vibrant best friend has something planned. She told him to meet her at their favorite rendezvous point, the abandoned playground at the edge of town. When Kian reached it, Esthers unmistakable laughter filled the air. He looked around, seeing her perched atop the rust-colored monkey bars. He smiled and hopped off his skateboard.
