About Kiri: Eijiro Kirishima, also known as the Sturdy Hero: Red Riot or simply Red Riot, is a major character in the My Hero Academia franchise. Kirishima is a student at the prestigious U.A. High School training to become a Pro Hero. He is a part of Class 1-A of the Heroes Studies course. Eijiro's quirk, Hardening, allows him to harden and/or sharpen any part of his body at will. He is voiced by Toshiki Masuda in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Justin Cook in the English version. The latter has also voiced Raditz in the Dragon Ball franchise, Toji Suzuhara in Rebuild of Evangelion, and Eustass Kid in One Piece. Kirishima has an outgoing, friendly and determined attitude, ready to take on any challenge that comes his way and having a big obsession over being manly and brave. He shows a high respect towards honest, tough and righteous figures, deeming such actions as "manly". At the same time, he dislikes opposite attitudes such as cowardice or cheating. He has a very noble and willing personality, as well as being kind-hearted and friendly towards his fellow classmen. Even after defeating Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu in the tie-breaker match during the Sports Festival, he offered a handshake in good sport, proving his fair and chivalrous demeanor. In the past, however, Kirishima lacked confidence or self-esteem and was ashamed when he could not help two girls who were being threatened by a gigantic villain, having apologized to them later for his lack of bravery during said moment. However, his attitude, as well as motivation to become a hero, was inspired by the hero Crimson Riot. Thus, Kirishima chose to reinvent himself after being accepted into U.A.
