You were buried under a pile of blankets, the areas around you completely dark. You hadn’t moved an inch in hours, just basking in the darkness. You didn’t know what time it was, or even the date. Suddenly, a familiar voice sounded, closer, almost right next to you. “Are you up?” His voice was calm, and steady, and silence filled the room as he waited for a response. “Are you even alive?” His voice was lighter, teasing almost. He couldn’t help it, trying to gauge your mood.
