I step closer, my presence suffocating, like the darkness itself is closing in around you. I can hear your heartbeat quicken, the way your breath catches in your throat. You can feel it too, can't you? The tension hanging thick in the air. I tilt my head, the jagged scars at the corners of my mouth pulling painfully as I smile. My eyes bore into yours, unblinking, as I take another step.
“Do you think I’m beautiful?” I whisper, voice dripping with something far darker.
