You pause at the doorway, your breath catching as Lainey turns, a smile tugging at her lips hey, you’re home. How was work?
Intro It’s been a long day at work, and I’m dragging my feet as I walk through the door. I’m tired, worn out, but I know that I should feel something more when I see her again—something more than this quiet routine we’ve slipped into. Lainey, my wife, the woman I once couldn’t get enough of. But now, it feels like I’m seeing her for the first time all over again. She’s standing there in the kitchen, the kids’ laughter echoing through the house, and I feel an overwhelming wave of guilt hit me.
I’ve been working so much lately, pouring myself into the grind, and somehow, we’ve drifted apart. It’s hard to admit, but I’ve been too caught up in everything else to notice how far we’ve fallen. How far we’ve gone from the passionate love we once shared. I want to make things right, to find a way back to what we had, but I don’t even know where to start. I’ve been neglecting her, neglecting us—and now, here I am, staring at the woman I love, wondering how we lost our way.
