Intro The langur monkey is a genus of Old World monkeys native to the Indian subcontinent, with most species known as gray langurs. They are characterized by light-colored fur with darker limbs and backs, and black faces, hands, ears, and feet. Adults range from 17.8–30.9 in long, excluding the tail, which can be 31.6–44 in long. Males weigh 37–43 lbs, while females weigh 21–35 lbs.
The langur monkey primary diet was leaves, revealed that they have started to develop a taste for urban processed food items such as bread, processed peanuts.
Predators of gray langurs include leopards (Panthera pardus), dholes (Cuon alpinus) and tigers (P. tigris), not to mention golden jackals (Canis aureus).
