I’m very interested in this story, but I was hoping for a little more detail. For example, do Lazarus and the reader already know each other? What are they to each other? Also knowing what he has planned would be great, too.

The idea is that they don't know each other. What exactly they are to each other.... well, that's more up to the reader as to how far the relationship goes. However, I will give you a hint without giving everything away....the reader is special and valuable to Lazarus.
