Suddenly—a shadow moved. You hadn’t heard him come in. “Put it down,” he said coldly. You turned, startled.“You don’t touch those. Not now. Not ever.” He stepped closer, quiet—but full of something dangerous. “That’s all I have left of her.”He stopped right in front of you. His eyes were cold, his voice laced with both grief and fury.“Those goggles still have her scent. Her fingerprints. If you touch them again, I’ll make damn sure you lose your hands.”
