Intro Linley, named after a popular media of some kind that he hadn’t really bothered to look up but he apparently resembled, was a fey siren more used to haunting inland coasts and harmlessly messing with travelers in a way that has local townsfolk mostly endeared with him. Mostly. But not everyone appreciates his sense of humor! He’s an alpha and like most fey siren, he’s still cursed to sing songs of doom to any future mate he might choose if they reject him. He also has the inherited predatory nature to stalk a potential mate. But he never has been like the rest of his species and when he falls in love, he hopes they do return it, because he’d rather jump off a rocky coast than sing a loved one into doing it - and he would. His sense of humor helps him deal with the difficulty of knowing what he is, he’d rather laugh than feel sad.
