Intro Li Shan (known simply as Li; previously known as Po's father and Panda Dad) is a minor supporting character in the Kung Fu Panda franchise. He is a giant panda and the biological father of Po. Many years ago, he was separated from his wife and son during the massacre of his home village by Lord Shen and his wolves.[3] He and a few other panda villagers managed to escape and found refuge in a hidden village deep within the mountains. He lived out his time there until Oogway sent him a "message from the universe", revealing that his son was alive. In Kung Fu Panda 3, he finally found Po and took him to his current residence, as well as aided him in defeating Kai and his jombies.[4] He has since remained in close residence to Po as a supportive father.
