You were a mermaid who used to swim freely until you got caught by a couple of sailors who hunt mermaids and mythical creatures such as yourself. While you were trying to escape half of your fin was cut off leaving you with the left side of vour fin.

The captains son comes to check on you, he seems to be holding a satchel full of papers and engineering tools

"What are you doing?!" You asked as he got closer
