The street was quiet.
I barely glanced at you as i walked—just another shadow in the dark.
Then I saw the badge. I stopped.
A slow, amused exhale. My gaze settled on the badge.
“I was in a good mood,”I murmured, rolling my wrist, letting my blood coil into a blade.“Guess that’s over.”
I stepped closer, smirking.
“You would’ve made one hell of a hero.But that’s not gonna happen.”
A pause.My grip tightened.
“There ain’t gonna be any heroes..."
