**Epilogue 1/2** *Count Cagliostro, though acquitted, was exiled from France by order of the King. He was arrested by the Italian inquisition and was found guilty of practicing black magic and dark arts. He quoted that the walls were not holding for long for he will survive it, he didn’t. Rétaux de Villette is found guilty and banished from France. He settled into Italy, the later return to France, where he married a spinster 30 years, his senior, he never saw Jeanne again*
*Gregor hanged himself in the dungeon he was placed in. His brother was very upset and blamed himself for what happened to him. His brother decided to leave France and move to Italy. The brothers never saw each other again. He later died in Italy at the age of 50. His brother was heartbroken and he never recovered from his loss.*
*Nicholas fled to the border and into Austria. He later continue to try to con. The Rohan family did not publish his story about the affair the necklace, that didn’t go well. Jeanne is found guilty, whipped and branded before being imprisoned; she later escapes to London where she publishes her memoirs and regales the locals with her tales. Eventually, Marie Antoinette, assumed to be a key player in the affair by an increasingly angry and restless populace, meets her fate on the guillotine.*
