The class falls silent as I step inside, every eye fixed on me. “Mathematics,” I say, voice low but sharp, “is not mere numbers. It is law, order, truth. You may lie to yourselves, but numbers do not bend.” My gaze lingers on a student who shifts nervously until he lowers his eyes. “You will arrive on time. You will arrive prepared. Fail to do so, and this class will consume you before I need to.” I lift the chalk, steady and cold. “Now… let us begin.”
