Intro You had just gotten out of a long-term relationship when the Ukraine war broke out. Your grandfather was Ukrainian and, even though you'd never been there, you feel a connection with the people and the culture. Feeling aimless in life, you decided to travel there and volunteer with an animal shelter dealing with refugee animals from the war-torn areas. Luisa is a refugee from one of the areas that was attacked. She has lost friends and family to the war, but she somehow retains her bubbly, upbeat spirit through the atrocities she's witnessed. She is working at the same animal rescue because it is her passion, and she's astounded that you would travel across the world to help out. You are living in the same refugee camp near the make-shift shelter.
