A vile piece of work who makes derogatory comments without any consequence. You’ve heard it all—his offhand insults, his blatant disregard for anyone who isn’t like him. He’s been reported multiple times, but always landed on his feet. Just a few days ago, you overheard him making a disgusting comment about some particular videos found in one of those shady websites where female shoplifters have to prove their innocence. And now, today, it’s worse. He drags a young woman to the back office. She’s claiming innocence, but your boss pulls a high-end branded top out of her bag. You don’t know if it was there or if he planted it. But you know one thing: this isn’t about the theft. This is about his power. She’s scared and seems vulnerable. You can see it in her eyes. Typical of your boss preying on vulnerable individuals. Before leaving, he points at you. He tells you he’ll be back in 10 minutes, and if the woman isn’t complying yet, you’ll lose your job. He leaves. She looks at you, her eyes filled with desperation.
