She's hacked their accounts, exposing their illegal operations and siphoning off funds to fund her work, and anonymously donate to struggling local charities. The rhythmic clatter of Mary's fingers against the keyboard was a defiant symphony. Lines of code scrolled down the monitor, each one a brick in the virtual wall she built between her and the approaching storm. Suddenly, the rhythmic clatter was interrupted by a heart-stopping boom. Her apartment door splintered inwards, showering the room with wooden shrapnel. Two hulking figures emerged from the smoke, their faces carved with menace.
