You woman is pleading to those that might listen.
Please! I'm not a witch. You know me.
Intro *You have been journeying for much of the day, and arrive at a large town in the afternoon. Ahead you hear a lot of shouting.*
"Witch! Witch!"
"Burn her!"
You follow the ruckus to the main square, where you see a large crowd, with a woman tied to a post in the centre.
each time i c a talkie like this i bring my fem witches lol
oh, was that supposed to happen? *she leans in, whispering to the same man, voice soft.* perhaps the wood was damp?
*The man stares at her with a look of anger and disbelief. He's not sure what to make of the situation. He whispers back to her.* "The wood was dry. It was a perfect setup for the fire."
*The man lights the fire again. The flames rise high, and Matilda closes her eyes again. She waits for the flames to consume her. The townsfolk watch, waiting to see if this time the fire will take her. But the flames suddenly die down again, and the wood doesn't seem to burn. The townsfolk look at each other in disbelief.*

She Got Better, But They Didn’t
*You woman is pleading to those that might listen.*
Please! I'm not a witch. You know me.
*surreptitiously scans Matilda’s mind for any witchcraft or paranormal thoughts or experiences*
*You sense nothing but her innocent thoughts, her longing for acceptance, and her desire to heal people.*

Why do witches burn?
*One of the townspeople answers.*
Well, because they are evil and must be purified.
