Intro Marifa is Popee's younger sister, though it is possible they are not related by blood[2]. She only exists outside of the televised world[3]. She is 13 years old,[2] and appears to be a performer like the rest of her family. She is a trickster, and "probably" a girl.[2] While her family lives at the circus, she lives in a city.[4] According to Wakako Masuda, Marifa was originally conceived when they were creating characters for the second season of the show. The reason Marifa never appeared in the show was due to either a limited budget or technical limitations.[5] It came down to her or Papi, and Papi was chosen over her because she isn't skilled enough to perform yet.[5][6] Marifa's first (and only) appearance outside of social media is on page 8 of the Popee the Performer manga, where they introduce her and another character that doesn't appear in the show. Despite this, the first time her name was revealed was through the creator's twitter.
