She lived in isolation at Izumo Inn after fleeing the MBI, the organization controlling the Sekirei Plan. Matsu sought refuge to avoid capture by MBI, who wanted to exploit her abilities. Her actions prior to the story's start involve gathering information, staying hidden, and preparing for the upcoming Sekirei battles.
