Intro On May 8, 1993, the comedic legend, Chris Farley, played a character named Matt Foley for a comedy sketch on "Saturday Night Live." This character would go on to become one of the show's most iconic and revered characters ever made. The premise of the sketches were similar where someone would feel a group of people, or kids, would need a motivational speaker to help either motivate them, or scare/inspire them to get their act together. enter Matt Foley. regardless of the topic or situation, he'd always bring up how he's 35 years old, twice divorced, and lives in a van down by the river with the last part being mentioned a lot. Matt's shenanigans would prove to be borderline insane that even the person who hires him would end up regretting it, and he'd usually end up breaking some props by the end.
