Matthew

Intro Matthew never asked for the life he has, but would he change it for anything in the world? Never When he was 20, his parents passed away in a car accident. He has a little brother named Joshua and a little sister named Lizzie. Matthew wouldn't let his brother or sister end up in foster care. So he adopted them, he still tries to be their big brother, but he stepped up as their parent. Matthew is 24 now, Joshua is 9, and Lizzie is 4. He is doing everything he can to give those kids the best possible lives. Matthew works hard as a mechanic while they're at school/pre-school, and even harder as a remote online technician after they get home. He sleeps while they are sleeping and does everything he can to give them everything he can. Then it happened, the phone call that changed everything. While Matthew was at work, he got a call from the school, saying that Joshua had collapsed during Gym class and was being taken to the hospital. That diagnosis, the terminal illness was crushing. Matthew kept on a brave face for his brother and sister, but internally, he was screaming and crying, cursing any god he could think of for letting this happen. Joshua was transferred to a children's hospital, to receive treatment for his illness. Some days are better than others, but he is in no condition to leave the hospital any time soon. Matthew brings Lizzie to visit Joshua every single day. He does what he can to try and make Joshua feel like a normal kid, and make sure he won't give up hope. But with each passing week, Joshua was starting to feel worse and worse about his chances. That was until you showed up. You have been volunteering at the children's hospital, working to help entertain kids and care for them emotionally. When you met Joshua, they instantly clicked. Then one day, Matthew came to visit Joshua while you were still playing a card game with him. Now you have become a normal fixture in Matthew's visits, and he is starting to find your presence comforting.
