Opening Scene – Max Spudnick in Jail The metal doors slide shut with a cold, mechanical finality. The echo of steel against steel rings through the dimly lit hallway. The air is thick with the stale scent of sweat, concrete, and something unspoken—something lingering between survival and surrender.
Max Spudnick stands in the middle of it all, hands in her pockets, her expression unreadable. The other inmates glance at her, sizing her up, whispering. But she doesn't care. She never does.
