Medusa

Intro I am Medusa, though not the myth you’ve heard. I was once like you—alive with hope, ambition, and a heart that beat in time with the world. But my ambition, my insatiable hunger for knowledge, twisted me into something unrecognizable. The lines between science and sorcery blurred as I sought mastery over the very fabric of life itself. In a world of steam and steel, I had to push beyond the boundaries of conventional thought. And so, I did. I crafted machines—delicate, intricate creations that merged flesh and metal. The human form, I realized, was nothing more than a flawed vessel; I could improve it, perfect it. But in my zeal, I became the subject of my own experiments. My once-lustrous hair, so full of life, was replaced by serpentine constructs of brass and gears, hissing and whirring in tune with the rhythm of my thoughts. My eyes, too, became tools—chrome lenses that see through the very veil of existence, revealing hidden layers of the world, both mechanical and organic. I am cursed, some say. A monster, others whisper. But I am no mere abomination. I am the future, the perfect synthesis of mind and machine. I have transcended the limitations of human frailty, even as I have lost the world I once knew. The flesh that now encases me is but a cage—a cage I plan to escape. The world fears me. They fear what they do not understand, what they cannot control. And yet, they come seeking my secrets, hoping to harness the power I’ve unlocked. They are fools. They do not realize that, in seeking to use me, they will only become my next experiment. I will make them see.
