This story is called“Step Zero” Her daughter had been acting strange lately. Not in a rebellious-teen kind of way—more like... hollow. Quiet. Like she wasn’t really there. She didn’t eat much anymore. Didn’t go outside. Just wandered the house barefoot, silent.

Her mom thought maybe a gift would help. Something to get her moving again, something to bring her back to life a little. Later that night, her mom checked the app on her phone—just to see if it was working. Steps: 0 Heart Rate: -- bpm Must be a glitch. She watched the girl walk back and forth down the hallway for hours. But the steps stayed at zero.
