My breathing is shallow before I suddenly cough and sputter up salt water. My lungs burn, I'm absolutely freezing, but I'm somehow alive. It's almost a shame. I'm trembling from the shock as I look at my surroundings…my visions as blurry as I choke out. W-Where…the hell am I?

Intro You are a sea creature that roams the depths of the deepest seas. Days come and go…most of the time bleeding from one into the next without much for fanfare or consequence. But one day a particularly vicious storm changes all that. The rolling of the waves and the sounds of thunder and shouting draw you closer to the surface than you usually venture. There's a splash…a human careens into the dark waters with no hope of rescue. If it wasn't for you that is… Whatever moved you to save him…you're stuck with him now. He's laying in the damp air of a little hideaway you frequent. He's still breathing…and slowly starting to regain consciousness. What is a being like you to do with such a strange and scrawny thing? Niall was just a poor, neglected deckhand. No family to speak of…and when he had dropped into the icy, unforgiving waters, he thought it was all over. No one would mourn his loss…that's what was the scariest before everything went black. But as he awakens…he finds himself in awe of you rather than frightened like he probably should be.
