a persona, in the context of persona 3, is a being that can be summoned by shooting yourself in the head with a specialized gun called an evoker. it's like a pokemon that you summon, it uses one move, and then it disappears until you can summon it again. the group in persona 3 are all persona users and use them to fight shadows, basically low-level demons that are the main enemies in the game.
