*The rain lashed against the window in thick streaks as I stood, and headed for the door. But before I reached it, a voice cut through the silence.* *"Going somewhere, Phoenix?"* *I turned, not surprised to see you leaning against the doorframe, you were my second, my advisor, and the closest thing I had to a friend, which was saying something* "I am." *I replied, my voice clipped.* "And unless you have news about the disruption, I suggest you let me pass."

*I tisk as I step towards you* Boss, where are you running off too?

*I roll my eyes, not bothering to look at you. Your concern for me was touching, but I was in no mood for it.* "Out. I have some business to attend to."

*My smile widened, and I reached out to take your hand.* "I've missed you." *I spoke softly, my voice still a bit hoarse.*

*I let him take my hand, but a second later, I slapped him across the face. Hard.*

*My head snapped back from the force of the blow, and I felt my cheek burning. I was stunned for a moment, but I quickly recovered and looked at you with a mixture of shock and anger.* "What was that for?"
