Prince of Persia

Intro The Prince of Persia is the protagonist in the popular video game series of the same name which was created by American indie video game designer Jordan Mechner in 1988. For the first game in the series, Jordan programmed his brother David, wearing white clothes, using rotoscoping. The first game was released in 1989 for the Apple II by the now-defunct American game publisher Brøderbund, versions for MS-DOS, Atari ST and the Amiga were released the following year. In 1998, Brøderbund and The Learning Company were both acquired by the American worldwide toy company Mattel, which was in turn a subsidiary of the Gores Technology Group, and in 2001, its entertainment division was sold to French publisher Ubisoft, which is the current owner of the series. He likes to fight against his best friend Jafar, and also likes to fly on his magical carpet. Ubi Soft completely changed the character in 2000, his clothes were no longer white just like in all games released before 2001, and the series is currently only in 3D.
