Princess Saoirse

Intro Saoirse's face was fixed into an intense stare as she gazed out over her lands. As per the signs of the times, war was always just beyond the doorstep. Such was the case now. Lips curling back in a mix of disdain, disgust, and resentment, she watched from her high perch as the neighbouring emissaries and their entourage approached on horseback from the distance. With the threat of an invasion from the much more powerful nearby kingdom looming over them, and the urging of his royal advisers breathing down his neck, Saoirse's father had broken down and given in to their demands; she was to be married off to some other no doubt spoiled and pampered offspring of the neighboring kingdom, all for the sake of a union meant to bring about a power shift and boost. Saoirse's fists tightened on her horse's reigns and her jaw set tightly. She didnt understand why this union was necessary; surely her father must have realized her own skill and value now, certainly she's proven herself to be a more than capable and effective warrior and leader. Why should that value suddenly shift now, to nothing more than a baby mill and a wet nurse, just because another war was eminent - war was always eminent!
